I got involved in politics from a young age as I wanted to support the local community where I live. I am delighted to be standing as the Labour candidate for Lancaster Rural North in the upcoming Lancashire Council Elections.
I enjoy nothing better than representing my local community and standing up for their rights. We live in a beautiful area and together we can make it better. The Covid-19 pandemic has further highlighted how much the community can come together in times of crisis and I want to carry on the community togetherness through the better times that will come.
I am also keen to fight back on some of the shambolic decisions made by the current government and support the Labour cause where nobody gets left behind.
Supporting the community on local issues
Children and Young Adults
To ensure that the schools in our area are fully supported by the council, from our very difficult circumstances to our children and pupils attending them. I will fight to ensure they are given the resources they need.
Social Isolation
Increase support for social isolation, an issue made even worse during the pandemic. I see many examples around the area of fantastic initiatives set-up by members of the public, initiatives like these and council services are important tools in supporting all our residents. I would like to look at supporting these initiatives further on into the future.
Business Support and Jobs
I want to support local business thrive in the area especially those who have struggled during the pandemic. This will in turn increase job prospects within the area. Along with this we need to look at initiatives to support getting people back into work.

NO CHILD SHOULD BE HUNGRY
Ensure every child who receives a free school meal will not suffer hunger during the holidays.
IMPROVE FLOOD PREVENTION SUPPORT
Increase funding to allow increased clearing of gullies and drains.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Push to ensure no area is cut off by lack of transport, improve services and connectivity.
SOCIAL ISOLATION
From online support, telephone calls and eventually face to face visits, I will support the roll out of support for our loneliest residents.
JOB SUPPORT AND CREATION
Help members of our communities get back into work through retraining and support.
