your Labour candidate for Morecambe North
Vote for a visible County Councillor working for YOU
I live in Bolton Le Sands and with your help I look forward to working with local people, public and private sectors to improve the quality of life for all.
Morecambe North is a great place to live. There is a need for better training and jobs, and making the most of the new Eden Project, but we also need to look after the physical and mental health of our community.
I have served on Nottinghamshire County Council, as Chair of Economic Development and Deputy Leader, where I built a lot of experience in “not for profit” regeneration partnerships. I worked with regeneration funding to create many jobs across the County. I was part of a team that helped transform Nottingham, working to get a new tram system in the city and developing a major arts and culture sector.
Supporting the community on local issues
Eden of the North
We will totally back the project and our aim is not just to have a premier tourism venue, but a real opportunity for local businesses to engage and thrive. We will support training initiatives to enable local people to gain employment at Eden and supporting venues. We will work to ensure local hotels and tourism venues can both support and grow alongside Eden.
We have all seen the white paint and quick repairs done in the last two months before the election. We will ensure repairs are done continuously and not just at election time. Good roads are safer roads for both cars and pedestrians
We have very active volunteers and community spirit. I want to ensure local people and organisations are fully supported by the County Council to help our residents thrive and belong.
