Voters feel let down by this Tory-led government

In the last month I have met hundreds of voters on the doorstep, and altogether Labour have knocked on over a thousand doors in Morecambe and Lunesdale.

Time after time people tell me they feel let down by David Cameron's government and our current Tory MP David Morris, and it is easy to understand why.

We all remember before the last general election, when David Cameron promised no more "tiresome, meddlesome, top-down re-structures" of the NHS. He broke that promise almost as soon as he became Prime Minister, by introducing the Health and Social Care Act which was the biggest change to the NHS in its entire history.

And David Morris MP supported it. The Health and Social Care Act made privatisation of the NHS easier and much more likely. Since it became law, billions of pounds of NHS services have been given to the private sector. This is why the voters of Morecambe and Lunesdale were surprised to read David Morris say "I am against all privatisation of the NHS" in a recent newspaper interview. If he really is, why did he vote for it?

It is hardly surprising that I am constantly having conversations with voters who are sick of this government and their MP.
