Vote for a visible County Councillor working for YOU

I am committed to being an active advocate for Morecambe at all levels of local government. I believe people living here need to know about the decisions being made at County Hall that affect them, and that their views need to be properly taken into account.

Elect me as your County Councillor and you can count on me to speak out on your behalf; on the issues that affect you, and the issues that matter to Morecambe. I will be a regular presence in your neighbourhood, holding community meetings and resident’s surgeries. I will work hard to tackle everyday nuisances such as potholes, blocked drains, fly tipping and antisocial behaviour.

I hope my track record as a City Councillor since 2019 speaks for itself – I keep my promises.

Supporting the community’s voice on local issues

Child hunger in Morecambe
Morecambe has made national headlines in its struggle against child hunger in our community – and all the while our Tory MP denies the problem exists. During lockdown the footballer Marcus Rashford shamed the government into temporarily feeding hungry children nationwide. The Tories won’t end child hunger, but a Labour led County Council will – we will provide food during the holidays for children who receive free meals at school.
Dangerous crumbling roads
Alongside scores of potholes, several roads in Westgate and Torrisholme are in need of complete resurfacing. Stagecoach are no longer running buses on Heathfoot Avenue in Heysham because of pothole related safety concerns. Considering the state of Hampsfell Drive and Hayfell Avenue, how long before Westgate loses its essential bus services too? Labour will invest £20 million extra into properly maintaining the roads, including proper resurfacing works.

My pledges to you

FEED HUNGRY CHILDREN
The government have chosen not to end child hunger, but a Labour County Council will provide food for children in the school holidays where they also receive free school meals.

BRING EDEN NORTH
The national budget didn’t contain the promised £70m to build Eden North. Labour is committed to a bright future for the area and fully supports the plans for Eden North.

FIX CRUMBLING ROADS
Our roads are crumbling and riddled with potholes. We will invest an extra £20m in highways maintenance, including a focus on long lasting resurfacing works.

DEMENTIA SUPPORT
We will establish a support team to draw together organisations and charities to share knowledge and expertise in improving and promoting care for dementia sufferers.

LANCASHIRE POWERHOUSE
We are committed to establishing Lancashire as centre for industry and green technology, with a skilled workforce in partnership with business leaders across Lancashire.
