Vote for a visible County Councillor working for YOU

I have lived in Morecambe Central for over 35 years, serving as your County Councillor since 2017. Since being elected I have worked with residents and organisations to improve services.

I have led campaigns to get defibrillators installed locally to save lives. I will continue to lead the Alley Champions project to keep our streets clean and tidy. I have served as a Governor at The Bay Leadership Academy supporting staff, parents, and students for over 12 years. COVID-19 has made life incredibly difficult for residents and businesses in our town. I am determined to work with local health and social care services to ensure they recover quickly from the challenges of the pandemic.

I am the candidate that will fight to protect those services.

Supporting the community on local issues that matter

Roads
The Tory-led Council have done little to fix our roads. Some are in a shocking state. It takes too long for our roads to be resurfaced. I will work with the county highways team to ensure our roads get the attention they need.
Improving our town
The Tories promised millions of pounds of funding for the Eden Project on Morecambe’s promenade. In the Government’s March 2021 Budget, this funding was withdrawn. More empty promises from the Tories leave Morecambe having to beg for the crumbs left on the Government’s table.
Flytipping
Flytipping and continues to be one of the worst issues locally. Cuts to budgets by the Tories have left green spaces overgrown. We need to work with partner organisations to clamp down on flytipping and ensure council teams are well funded to maintain green spaces.

My pledges to you

KEEPING OUR STREETS TIDY
I will continue to lead Morecambe’s local Alley Champions Project, working with volunteers to keep our streets clean and tidy.

FREE SWIMMING AND HEALTHY LIVING
I will continue to campaign for free swimming for those under 16 and over 50, along with ensuring funding for our local sports centres protected.

EDUCATION
Children and parents need to be at the heart of all future plans for education locally. I will ensure all decisions by the county council on education and schooling are scrutinised thoroughly.

HEALTH SERVICES RECOVERY
More people are waiting longer than ever for major health procedures. If I am re-elected, I will work with health leaders to ensure key services are prioritised for the most vulnerable patients.

LOCAL PROJECTS AND FUNDING
We need investment in local services and events. I will prioritise funding for local projects if I am re-elected as your local county councillor.
