The Morecambe and Lunesdale Constituency Labour Party (MLCLP) is made up of 4 branches, Morecambe, Heysham, Skerton and Carnforth. We are fortunate to have our own Labour Hall on Battismore Road in Morecambe that is used for meetings.

The CLP runs on the One Member One Vote system and holds regular monthly meetings (apart from August and December) on the 4th Thursday of the month, which are a mixture of CLP business and political speakers. We also run a number of groups and sub-committees, such as disability and fundraising.

The day to day needs of the CLP is managed by Executive Officers and a General Committee, these are elected each year at the AGM and are all volunteers.

We are a friendly inclusive party and actively welcome and encourage members to get involved.

Canvassing

We actively canvass all year round not just at Election times and provide plenty of opportunities for members to help out. We do this in order to ensure that we are in touch with  people’s worries and interests and, where appropriate, pass them on to the relevant Councillors as case work. It also helps us know where our supporters are. We also may run specific campaign’s on key local issues.

Details of scheduled canvassing sessions will appear on the website and in the CLP Facebook group, all members are welcome to join.
