Our Morecambe Bay NHS Trust is facing £25million in cuts, and services at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and other local hospitals are under threat.
The Tories have carried out the biggest changes to our NHS in 60 years, after promising that they wouldn't. They have spent £1.6billion just on redundancy fees for NHS managers.
Services are getting more and more stretched. In the last year, Vascular Services have been moved by the Tory-led government from the RLI to Preston, and our Tory MP did nothing to oppose the decision.
Under the Tories, waiting times at A&E have rocketed, patients are waiting longer to see their GP, and patients with life-threatening conditions are waiting longer for an ambulance and life-saving treatment to arrive.
Amina Lone says:
“The facts speak for themselves. Under the Tories our NHS is in deep crisis. Vascular Services patients now have to travel to Preston for treatment after the service was cut at the RLI, and Pharmacy services are being privatised and sold-off to companies more interested in profit than patient care. Morecambe's Tory MP has done nothing to oppose any of these plans.
"These decisions demonstrate how our Tory-led government and Tory MPs may promise services are safe, but behind our backs they are making drastic cuts and hatching plans to privatise the NHS.
“Morecambe’s current Tory MP has voted for and supported the biggest reorganisation in the history of the NHS every step of the way. It has been a £3billion waste of public money on reorganisation instead of services, and it has done nothing but cause chaos and put lives at risk.
“The Tories cannot be trusted with the NHS. I urge people to join our campaign to save our hospitals and sign our petition. The NHS needs us all to defend it."
