A chance for all members of the local Labour Party to meet existing Labour City

Councilors, as well as the MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood Cat Smith, to share their

thoughts and ideas for the kinds of initiatives they would like to see both the Labour

City Council, and their local Labour Party, pursue.

Leader of the City Council Eileen Blamire will introduce the work of the City

Council, and portfolio holders for Economic Development, Leisure Culture and

Tourism, and Environment and Housing will be in attendance to discuss these

important policy areas with you.

The event is particularly aimed at those considering running as a Labour Party

candidate for the City Council elections, but is open to all members of the Labour

Party. For prospective candidates in next year’s City Council elections there will also

be an opportunity to have professional photographs taken for future campaign

material.

Whether you are currently on the list of approved candidates for the City Council

elections, are thinking about putting your name forward as a Labour Party candidate

but would like to know more, or are a local Labour Party member interested in local

campaign issues and local democracy, then come along!

The Lancaster City Council elections are not until May 2019, but we hope to have a

full slate of candidates in position to contest their local seats as soon as possible. We

are still looking for more candidates so if you are interested, or know anyone who is

interested, in standing as a candidate, then please get in touch via the contact details

below.
