My name is Cllr Margaret Pattison I am a Lancaster City Councillor/ Morecambe Town Councillor in Heysham North. I was born and brought up in Morecambe and Lunesdale which gives me great passion to work and share good practice with other councillors for the benefit of our beautiful district. I have been a Governor at Heysham High School for 8 years working with the school council doing regular litter picks and walk arounds in the Heysham North Ward. . I was re- elected in May 2015 after 4 years on the council which I have enjoyed every minute. I am now on the Cabinet Lancaster City Council, my 4 portfolios are.. Markets. ICT. Volunteers. Older People. I am chair of Licensing Regulatory. On the Planning Committee. Chief Ex Recruitment Committee. Heysham Power Station Committee. I run a weekly surgery 11am every Thursday at Westend Impact as we need to support and protect working and vulnerable people. future aims are.. To protect our vital public services. Work with the over 55s groups. Transport for over 55s. Falls in private homes and older people's homes, what training is in place for care workers? Isolation and loneliness in the home. Depression and mental health in the over 55s Safeguarding for vulnerable adults. Digital in the future for over 55s. Care quality/ Mystery shoppers. Good warm comfortable homes. Councillor Ron Sands

Ron Sands has served as a councillor for twelve years and worked in local government for forty years before retiring. Until 2015 he was on the Council's Executive Committee (the Cabinet) with responsibility for Culture, the Arts, Tourism, Leisure and Sport. He uses his long experience to help anyone who has difficulties or problems and was much involved with the return of the Eric Morecambe Statue. In Heysham North he works closely with fellow Councillor Margaret Pattison, Ron has served as Older Person's Champion and is currently the English Heritage's "Heritage Champion".
