Councillor David Whitaker
I live in West End and have firsthand knowledge of the challenges that people have to deal with in one of the most deprived areas of The District. I am currently raising the on going problem of derelict buildings in The West End that are having a negative impact on The quality of The Environment. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed in regard to dealing with the issue of derelict buildings in regard to ownership but The officers are well aware of my concerns and that of the residents I represent and rest assured I will keep the pressure on The Relevant Departments who deal with these issues. I am also working on setting up a Friends group to uplift Alexandra Park on Alexandra Road. The Town Council is working towards a Neighnourhood Plan that will empower the good residents of Morecambe. It is early stages at the moment so I continue to keep you informed with developments. In regard to other activity --I am continuing to Campaign with Unison in opposition to The Governments unprecedented attacks upon public services.Read more about David on the Lancaster City Council website
