David Brayshaw to stand for Labour

I am delighted to reveal that Morecambe Carnival founder and local businessman David Brayshaw has been selected as the Labour candidate for the Town Council by-election on October 30th in Heysham North.

I have known David for some time now, and he is incredibly proud of our town and is passionate about the potential of Morecambe and its people.

We all know about the success of this year's Morecambe Carnival which David organised. 30,000 visitors came to the town, and an estimated £1.5million was brought into the local economy. David has also been the owner of his own business in Morecambe for almost 20 years, employing 14 local people.

I have no doubt that David's experience in business and in organising local community events such as the Morecambe Carnival will be a valuable asset to the Town Council, and I am incredibly proud that he is the Labour candidate.

I call on everyone who supports our town, who believes in its potential and its people, to give their backing to David in the Heysham North by-election on October 30th.
