Alison McGovern Visit

Alison McGovern and myself meeting with parents at the Lune Park Childrens Centre.

I was delighted to welcome the shadow children and families minister and Wirral South MP Alison McGovern to Morecambe and Lunesdale recently.

Together we visited the Lune Park Children's Centre where we were welcomed by staff and given a tour of the centre to see the wide variety of services on offer.

We met with a group of parents who talked to us about a range of issues from the importance of communication and consistency of support to recognising the value of the role that grandparents play in caring for children within families. We also talked about the gaps in current provision and what a Labour Government would do to support children and families better.

It was an informative and really worthwhile visit for both Alison and I and I am grateful for the welcome that we recieved from everyone at the centre.
